Hey, at first I wanted to work by myself but since I sit by Angel & Danniella in class I decided to work with them. We have decided that Angel will be in charge of most of the filming and editing since he's really good at that. Danniella will be in charge of the storyboard and basically directing. I will assist Angel with the filming and editing. We also would be using my phone most of the time to film because of my really good camera. We all will be including things like equipment, props and be included in scenes. I chose to work with them because I was really interested in their films from last year. It seems like they could really teach me a bunch of new things to broaden my creativity.  I believe we could all really put together a AWESOME film. Angel is interested in thriller, Danniella is interested in drama & I'm interested in action. All of those things together sounds really good!  Right now we have absolutely no idea what we want to do. Were looking towards th...

Hi, my names Anya Lucas. I am so excited to have made it to the next level in this class! Just in case you don't remember I'm here to tell you a little about me a lot has changed. For starters I am a Junior now and I'm very excited about that. Some of my hobbies are track and doing hair, I spent the whole summer perfecting my craft in both. I love movies! That's what makes this class so interesting. Learning about how films are made and the work that goes behind it is just so satisfying to me. The type of movies I tend to watch are action, romantic and comedy. Although I don't read very often my love for movies also ties to my love for books. I tend to read books that are most likely based on real life. I'm a very enthusiastic person and I feel as if this class helped me bring my enthusiasm out into my creativity. I also try my very best at EVERYTHING  that I do. Last year I learned a lot of new skills that I'm so excited to include in my project this year....

Production Blog: Last day of my final task !

Image
Today is the final day to get everything together. Over the past 2 days I’ve filmed the rest of my project and edited most of it. I have all my titles done and I love them of course. I did make a few changes in my audio, instead of having the actual sound come from the video I decided to do voice overs. I made this change so that the film will not only look a little professional but also sound professional. The editing of the rest of the scenes were fairly easy the most I did was crop the videos and edit the time stamps. The filming of my last scenes were also fairly easy. I used my phone and the many cool features it comes with. The whole process of that portion of filming took me only about 45 minutes cause the scenes were so little  During this whole project I did overcome a lot of obstacles. I went through people not showing up to having to change some of my favorite plans in my film. Though that was disappointing I’m proud to say that I did it ! I didn’t find anything hard abo...

Production blog: Filming finale !

Image
Today was the last day of filming, over the past few days since the last blog that’s all i’ve been doing. I used my phone to do the filming of course. The process was fairly easy. I didn’t have any trouble with anything such as getting certain angles. The only thing that kind of bothered me a bit was the lighting. Since i’m filming everything mostly in my home I had to increase lighting in most areas. To do this I used my ring light or just played around with my camera on my phone. The cool thing about all this is that I have a iPhone 12 pro so my camera already comes with enhancement features and angle options so I really got to use that also, which is great cause it just makes editing easier. It was easy to film but it took me a really long time because I wanted everything to be perfect, there is no more time left to keep making changes. It took me about a hour and a half to finish everything. Over the next few days i’ll be editing those clips of my films. I believe this will go...

Production Blog: Making improvements

Today I did a lot of fun stuff with my film. I added background music to the beginning. In a previous blog I mentioned I wanted to go with a cartoon type theme in the beginning for my titles, so today I also editing those. In my last blog I only edited the titles. I was supposed to get back to filming but I couldn’t today. This lucky lucky still won’t put me behind which I am grateful for. I used my iPhone and an app called filterra (totally free) to help me edit the cartoon type theme on there. This whole process was fairly easy it’s just like using a snapchat filter but instead your creating it. I didn’t want it to cartoonish so I just did a slight edit. I got my background music from youtube non copyrighted. Today was really a slight day to me it felt like I didn’t really get anything done but if you look back at it, I really did. My next blog hopefully I get back into filming the rest of my film.  here’s what a clip looks like in the theme that I chose.

Production Blog: Making Titles

Image
I’ve been working on my titles since the last blog. This whole process has been very stressful I must admit. A lot of issues went wrong. The apps kept running slow which made me run low on time. Then some of my edits weren’t saving because of such little storage on my phone. Eventually I just kept alternating from my iPad to phone. I preferred my phone because it’s newer and I could do a lot more and on my iPad that’s limited. To achieve my titles I used phonto, iMovie, and picsart. I got the fonts from the web for free which was great. The symbols in my titles are also from the web (a free png). Despite the hard time I had achieving my titles I can say that I am happy with the outcome. I also used youtube to watch tutorials which helped me out a lot. Right now i’m working on doing more filling which I will talk about in my upcoming blogs. I really want to show my titles but I don’t want to ruin it. Below is a picture of where I got my many fonts for my titles all for free !

Production Blog: Filming and editing updates

Hey, Being that we just got back from spring break I haven’t done much editing or filming because I was out of town. I do plan on filming more this week. While I was going back to look at my process I came up with a new idea. I’ve decided to change the theme of my titles. At first I was going to go with a normal pop up theme as usual but over the break I also studied the way popular movies do their titles and it’s always something fun. Since my movie theme is action I decided to go with a sort of cartoon title as if it were a comic book. Luckily I won’t have to re-film any of the clips I’ve already filmed, all I have to do is go back and edit it to look like a cartoon/ use a filter. For the actual titles it may get a bit tricky due to the fact I want to kind of add a symbol or something of that sort in it. I plan to have this done by my next blog due in a few days so that gives me plenty of time to go watch tutorials and really focus on this part. The good thing about this is that...
